About the wine
Carmenère is Chile’s flagship grape — a Bordeaux variety that survived there after phylloxera devastated Europe. Vitrea Andes makes an entry-level version, without heavy wood. Purplish ruby color, aromas of roasted red bell pepper, ripe plum and a trace of paprika. Soft on the palate, polished tannins, a slightly herbal finish typical of the grape. An easy weekday red. Serve between 16°C and 18°C, in a medium glass.
